Life as a Deafblind
Graphic Designer

My name’s Asia, and I’m one of an estimated 400,000 people in the world with Usher syndrome. Against all odds, I’m also a graphic designer. But don’t worry, this isn’t just about my career. I want to share my experiences – the highs and lows – of living with Usher syndrome, and you’re coming along for the ride.

About me

My name’s Asia

Nice to (sort of) meet you.

I was born severely deaf, given bilateral hearing aids at 11 months old, and was later diagnosed with Usher syndrome at the age of 19, when my eyes joined the party with their own issues.

I’m not an expert in anything, not by any stretch of the imagination. I’m just a young woman with opinions and experiences that will hopefully be of use to those living with Usher syndrome and their loved ones.
